United Way of Fresno County’s May Gnia Her and Sevag Tateosian were honored to be presented with a scholarship to attend a week long training in Sacramento, CA put on by Neighborworks America. The training, which focused on financial capability and financial coaching was funded by Citi. “Knowledge is key to financial empowerment,” said Mary Hogarty of Citi Community Development. “When you combine access to responsible financial products and services with timely information in the right format, you increase financial capability. We are proud to work with community organizations like United Way of Fresno County to advance financial capability in the U.S.”
The facilitators for the training were Saundra Davis, founder of Sage Financial Solutions, Inc. and Christi Baker, founder of Chrysalis Consulting Group. United Way of Fresno County is planning on implementing a financial coaching program within the work of SparkPoint Fresno. The COACH model is client-driven, with ongoing assessment, action planning and constant check-ins with clients.
