LIVE UNITED

Underneath everything we are, underneath everything we do,
we are all people.

Connected, interdependent, united.

And when we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all.

That's what it means to
LIVE UNITED.

In Fresno County, the Women's Initiative has taken on the challenge of tackling one of the region's most pressing concerns: substance abuse. This is a problem that cuts across all socio-economic categories. The "Lock It Up. Clean It Out. Drop It Off." project was funded in collaboration with California Health Collaborative and The County of Fresno to tackle this growing problem in the Central Valley. Below you will find information regarding steps you can take to prevent prescription drug abuse. This information is packaged in an Education Kit that is available by request. We encourage you to pass out these Kits or hold viewing parties in order to get the word out on this urgent issue affecting so many individuals in the Valley. If you have already viewed the Kit, please feel free to fill out the survey below. To request free copies of the Education Kit, please contact Sarah Hutchinson at 559-243-3685 or shutchinson@unitedwayfresno.org.

SAFE DROP-OFF SITES

The United States Postal Service generously donated twelve USPS mailboxes for the proper disposal of your prescription medicine. These mailboxes were painted and branded with each community's corresponding law enforcement agency logos. You may drop off your expired or unwanted prescription medication at any of the Safe Drop-Off location boxes. The medication will then be collected and disposed of in a safe, non-toxic environment. For a list of available locations, please click here.
